I GET TO GRADUATE SCHOOL!
Orientation was so much fun yesterday. I don’t even feel like I won’t know my way around. (The campus isn’t that crazy!) But I met again with my adviser and he finally gave me the answer I needed to know that would verify that I can graduate in the spring. So, this is the first time I have felt secure about school here. Its nice not to worry and think about all the mistakes I made as far as what classes I did take and how long I have been waiting. But like everything in life there is always a catch…
I started this blog yesterday before I went home and talked with Ryan about the new “rumors” at work. And since I heard them I feel I can spread them. We don’t ever worry when we hear stuff like this though b/c you never know. I will get to the point!
Supposedly though they are laying off several people in Ryan’s department and only keeping 5. I think there is like 15-20 people but not sure. Anyway, it would be unlikely that he would be one of the 5 to stay. And we heard it will be within 3 months. There are a few options they are giving. 1) You get a two month severance package and leave right away, 2) You volunteer to leave in 6 months, get no severance…I think that is all the options probably. Anyway, this doesn’t sound very fun…
And this brings me to the whole point of this blog. On the SAME day that I am totally comforted about school, we find out Ry might lose his job. It wouldn’t matter if it wasn’t for school, we could move anywhere another job was, but now I don’t even know if I could go to BYU or anywhere else. And I feel like I have been patient. But it is unlikely that Ry could find just as good a job here. He will take a major pay cut that could later effect his chance of going to Business school. And I don’t want to be selfish, even though I feel like we should stay in Boise no matter what. Anyway, I am not worried or sad over this; I just find it amusing that there is opposition in ALL that we do. Such a profound doctrine that I forget about until it causes changes in major life decisions. I know I am preaching to the choir but it just still astonishes me how it never lets up…
Is work over yet? Is it 6:00…today is hard for some reason…I want to go home…
Help: Needing an excellent face wash/lotion
I have recently become extremely snobby about the kind of face wash and lotion I use. This is mostly due to living in the desert (its dry here if you didn’t know) and getting free very nice, lavish, and insanely expensive stuff at a trade show. One weekend we had a spinal screening for work. The lady at the nice face stuff booth across the isle had a crush on my doctor. So I one the free gift!! Yay for me! But now I am addicted and don’t want to pay for it. The problem with my skin is that it is confused. It breaks out when it is dry not oily. So, I have to make sure it is well moisturized or I get red and white bumps in various locations. I hate it of course. So help me please. I don’t want something extremely expensive but am willing to invest a fair amount. I am willing to try many things.

Free Money
We are expecting to receive our “stimulus” package any day now. I think it is exciting that $1200 will just be showing up in our bank account when it feels like it. It hasn’t happened yet. I was just wondering what everyone else will do with their check. I really didn’t feel that this was a smart thing to do for our economy and that is why I ask. If we were all smart we would SAVE it or pay off debt we have with it. And that is of course what we are planning on doing with it…save it…but I am feeling VERY bored with this idea. I mean it is sorta free right?! Is it wrong for me to want to spend $50 of it something fun?! Just a guilt free shopping spree for once! I am being silly b/c lately I have been on shopping sprees and have not felt one bit guilty about it. I am not going crazy or anything, I just go through phases now and I know this is just a phase. It is dying down. And for some unfortunate and weird reason I like to spend money on things right BEFORE we go on vacation. This is ridiculous since we should spend money ON vacation. (Most of our trips seem to be relatively inexpensive). But I come up with all these things I need before we go. “Oh these sandals would be PERFECT for Mexico!!” Anyway, I know I shouldn’t think the way I do about money but I will be aiding the economy and buying SOMETHING I wouldn’t normally.
Where did Spring go?!
Today I have been complaining about the weather. I feel really bad about this b/c I have been complaining about how cold it is for the past couple of months. I mean, its almost May and it is finally warming up. But today it is almost TOO warm. I know, I know…appreciate what you have but I just want a Spring, and I think we skipped it this year. What we did this weekend…
Ry and I finally pulled out the bikes for good. Saturday we did a rigorous ride in the foothills. I still had to get off to walk sometimes b/c some places were so steep I just didn’t have enough skill to go up. What really bigs me (and I think I have complained about this before) is that Ry has so much more endurance than me riding bikes. He can go forever and barely huff and puff and every time I go is the closest I come to vomiting due to exertion. But it is a nice challenge and you forget about how hard it is when you go down the hill. Then yesterday, we took a very relaxing ride to a neighborhood near our house. This is a really nice area that we would love to live in if we were planning on staying here. We rode around and looked for houses for sale. Its just a hobby. It was so nice to be outside appreciating the great weather.
Other good news…
I think we found someone to take my job!! Yay!!!! Its just good to know…
I am attending orientation tomorrow for school and will be able to enroll in class!
Just so you know…
I wanted to explain why I was even half interested in the answers to the questions about Twilight yesterday…my sil put a comment on my post and I thought that it does seem like a weird thing to wonder. I have been reading several speculations about what the last book will entail. One very popular theory is that Bella will get pregnant after the wedding and that will be what keeps her from being changed to a vampire. But I was happy to find out the official answer even though I thought it made sense!

After my post yesterday my sis brought up a concern that Twilight the movie would be rated R. So I did some research and got some good news. This is from the IMBD website for the movie.
She said that when she sold the rights, she did have ONE special provision, and that was a guaranteed PG-13 rating.

If you have long hair, and you are changed then you cut that hair, it will not grow back. If you have split ends, tough luck. They can style their hair though, like get hair extensions, or use curling and straightening irons.

Some big pet peaves…
1. Music replacing the ring tone when you call someone. This doesn’t normally really bother me because one of all my friends actually uses this…but I don’t like that much either. It has especially come to my intention while I have been calling people to schedule interviews with candidates to take my job. Its not so bad if its like one girl’s and Dave Matthews Band is serenading you after the operator says “please enjoy the music.” Do I have a choice?! No, it would be better if I did. But it is especially annoying if it is some gangsta rap describing private and inappropriate behaviors or if it is just frankly a really annoying stupid song. And I can’t help thinking that it is really immature and unprofessional.
2. Rude OLD ladies!! I volunteer at the hospital Mondays and Fridays. I love Fridays; I look forward to see the kind old women that I work and chat with in the office. It adds more to my day to be able to serve and those around me lift me up. Mondays on the other hand, are probably one of the most dreadful parts of my week. The women are rude, unfriendly, bitter, and treat me like I do nothing. Its been like that from the beginning. Today I confused one of them by helping them and she chewed me out! I know this is silly but I actually cried b/c my feelings were so hurt (I never take things like that well anyway) but I have also been more emotional lately for some reason. Grrrr… I am emailing today to switch my day to Wednesday.
3. Gross old men! We have a patient who’s husband comes and waits for her in the office. Imagine sitting quietly working and then a TUBA goes off in the room. That is EXACTLY what his voice is like. Very loud, obnoxious, and I even had to ask him to stop telling me crude jokes! How awkward is that! His poor wife is so embarrassed.
I hope you do not think I am a terrible person for writing this. I just had to express some of the stresses of my day. But I can kind of laugh at some of these things too…except the old ladies at the hospital.

So, now that the Twilight movie is deep in production you can waste many minutes of your life on Utube seeing camera phone videos people took on set or weird random pics; there is just tons of stuff. I was getting easily distracted from the work I should be doing. Here is one video though that you cannot live without. It is 5 minutes of chillbump bliss. A Wonderful Trick…
Last weekend Spring finally came to the Treasure Valley we just weren’t here to enjoy it. Yesterday, it came back and it is almost hot. It is so beautiful outside it really makes you want to be out there. But take a look at tomorrow…
