SoftCover Circle

Last night we have a very fun first gathering for our new group, SoftCover Circle. We ate lots of great food that everyone brought and talked for a couple of hours about The Last Promise and many many other things. For our first book I think it left something to be desired as far as discussion goes. This book was somewhat forgettable in my eyes but we are excited about our line up. Here is the schedule:

March Life of Pi Led by Courtney Lennburg

April The Wedding Led by Rachel Miller

The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands

Led by Amanda Hudson

June And Then There Were None

Led by Crystal Wilkins:Mystery Dinner Theme!

July Mere Christianity Led by Morgan Carpenter

August Twilight Series Including the final book! Led by Jackie Carter

There are so many amazing books to choose from it was hard to narrow it down. We have many great times to look forward too!

    Okay…
Our book for this month is The Last Promise by Richard Paul Evans. We heard it was good and a quick read. I have reserved all the copies at the library and will pick them up tomorrow. At that point whoever wants to read it can check it out from me and there should be several that can get to it by the last week of this month. Also, you can order it on Amazon for less than $10 if you are wanting to build your library. And I bet you can find it at little used books stores that are always fun to browse around.

Ok, so the book we talked about on Sunday, by Richard Paul Evans is called The Last Promise. You can get it at the library. It is a love story, and he is a good and simple writer, I think we will all enjoy it.

Probably it’s already taken, but I like Bookworms for a name. Or novel noses. or hardcover hounds. or the book babes. or the softcover circle. or the skimming sisters. or the seeking sisters. or some variation on any of those.

I start reading today, get your copy and let’s get going. This is going to be FUN!!!

Okay, so I finished this book and it was really really good and very romantic! I only have one copy right now and the first that wants it gets it. But we need to try and read it fast so others can get to it as well. Just give me a call and we can get together so I can get it to you. This month we are going to meet on Thursday February 28 at my house. at 7:30ish? We will be have a Tuscan feast potluck so bring your favorite Italian dish. I am so excited and hope many of you can make it! The more people the more vivid discussion.

Soft Cover Circle met last Thursday night and I am finally getting around to updating it. We had a great turnout and excellent discussion on Life of Pi. We had great desserts from Courtney (Thank you so much!) and we had great company for the entire 2.5 hours we were all together. I am so glad that so many of you are coming. I have already started the next book; The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks and I am really enjoying it actually. It has great insight into a real life marriage and not some unrealistic fairy tale. I am really looking forward to getting together again.

The next meeting will be on April 24 at Jackie’s apt. complex. We will be holding it in our clubhouse. Not sure what to do about food yet. I still need to talk with Rachel who will be leading our discussion.
